The three main ways an employment relationship can come to an end (termination by the employer, termination by the employee and termination by mutual agreement) are set out below. Termination may be with or without notice.
In addition, the contract may automatically terminate in certain circumstances, such as where it is “frustrated” by the employee's long-term absence.
